Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Raheem
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Asalaamun alaykum brothers and sisters,
As you'll remember from our previous message on May 18th that
explained some of the new initiatives of the Az Zahraa community, we
had announced the formation of a Leadership Team that would address
five key areas: fundraising, spirituality, family affairs, volunteers,
and health and wellness. Alhamdulillah, we're pleased to announce
that we've filled each of these positions.
- Br. Mohamed R. N. Dewji is the Leader of Fundraising. Br. Mohamed
is a successful businessman with deep roots in the community, and his
keen interest in ensuring that our community develops into a
financially secure enterprise, coupled with a strong team with formal
experience in accounting, fund-raising, business, and academics, will
serve this vital need with excellence, insha'allah.
- Br. Usama Al-Atar is the Leader of Spirituality. Br. Usama is a
world-recognised spiritual speaker, and his lectures, workshops, and
camps on Islam and Spirituality have attracted a wide audience,
particularly among young people. He is fluent in many languages,
including Arabic and English. Further, his connections with dynamic
speakers around the world will help bring vitality to Az Zahraa's
spiritual programs.
- Sis. Nushrat Kassam is the Leader of Family and Social Affairs.
Sis. Nushrat is a qualified professional counselor, and she brings
tremendous dedication and energy to developing a robust plan for
addressing the social and family needs of the community. Sis. Nushrat
has worked in many leadership capacities and also has expertise in
career counseling for young people.
- Br. Mehboob Khaku is the Leader of Volunteer Services. As the
previous Director of Maintenance, Br. Mehboob saw firsthand the need
for leadership in developing a strong volunteer group while
enhancing the spirit of volunteering within the community. In his
previous leadership roles, Br. Mehboob has demonstrated a balanced
command of the logistics of the Centre and has proven himself as an
excellent coordinator.
- Dr. Sukaina Kara is the Leader of Health Promotion and Wellness. A
qualified pharmacist and a recently qualified medical doctor, Sr.
Sukaina has the energy, dedication, and innovative ideas to shape a
strong health promotion and wellness program in our community. Her
knowledge of current health care advances and wellness promotion will
serve our community well, insha'allah.
Please join me in welcoming Br. Mohamed, Br. Usama, Sis. Nushrat, Br.
Mehboob, and Sis. Sukaina to their leadership roles and thanking them
for taking the initiative to serve our community. I'm confident the
community will give these Leaders the support they'll need to ensure
the success of their programs. May the Almighty reward them for their
efforts.
